The field of veterinary medicine is rapidly changing. The list of cancer types which will respond to chemotherapy and radiation therapy is rapidly growing as new medications - and better and safer treatment protocols - are developed. pets are reaping the benefits of these advances. Effective therapies are now available for cancers which were once considered not treatable. The risk of side effects has diminished. Pets with cancer can now live longer and happier lives.
At VSEC we utilize advanced diagnostic cancer testing - including ultrasound, CT scans and biopsy procedures - to identify the type, location and behavior of a particular tumor. Using this information, a treatment plan - which may include surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy - is designed specifically for your pet with the goal of improving and extending your pet’s quality of life.
Most treatments are administered on an outpatient basis. Communication with both you and your family veterinarian concerning your pet’s health status and future plans are always considered a priority at VSEC.
